3 -4 Year Old Nursery Term 3

We have been getting to know all the new friends that have joined us this term. It is lovely to have so many children to play and learn with.
Goldilocks and the Three Bears
The children have been brilliant at learning the lines from this story and saying them in the voices of the bears. They set up a 'Three Bears' home corner with big, little and middle sized items and explored dry and wet porridge.

The Little Red Hen
We are now learning the story of the Little Red Hen. Ask your child what they can recall of the story. We have looked at different types of seed and have planted some broad beans in our 'window greenhouses' so that we can watch as they grow.
The children have also explored flour and made a lovely mess with flour and water. Today we put our mixing skills to work and made some delicious bread, just like the Little Red Hen.

The Three Little Pigs
This week the Big Bad Wolf visited our nursery and left his muddy footprints all over the floor. The children went on a hunt to find and rescue the three little pigs. They decided that if they were hiding they would do so in the trees so we looked there and found the three pigs.
The children made their own houses using large boxes. They decorated them with chalk designs and acted out the story with lots of huffing and puffing!
Inside the nursery we have changed our home corner into a building site. The children have been learning the names of some tools and what they are used for. They have been constructing their own buildings, following designs they have drawn, laid traps to stop the Big Bad Wolf and made some safety signs for the site. I wonder what they will think of to do next week?
