Sports Week

We have had a fantastic week for Sports Week.

The children have enjoyed taking part in a huge variety of different sporting events throughout the week.

It all started last Friday with the sponsored obstacle course in Nursery.

They raised a fantastic £441 which will be used to purchase new resources for the Nursery.

On Monday morning the children experienced Archery.

Key Stage 2 had an instructor from Gordano Valley Archers who taught them how to use a bow and arrow.

Key Stage 1 took part in bean bag archery, which really focused their accuracy skills.

During Monday afternoon, key stage two had a talk and Q&A with a weightlifter.

They asked lots of questions and enjoyed learning about a new sport.

On Tuesday we had a walking football sessions all day with visitors from Clevedon Town FC.

This was quite challenging, as there is no running allowed so the children had to really concentrate on slowing themselves down.

Wednesday morning we welcomed our reception and year one families in for our sports activity morning.

They had a great time taking part in lots of activities with their children.

Thank you to all of those parents, carers and friends who joined us.

Year 2 - 6 had a brilliant day at Uphill Beach taking part in a wide range of sporting activities.

Thank you to our Forever Sport coaches for joining us during this afternoon and it was great to see so many families joining us at the beach.

Thursday was sports day and once again it was amazing to see so many families joining us for  both our sports day sessions.

The children all had a fantastic day and it was great to see them all participating.

Today was our final sports day of sports week and what a way to finish.

The children took part in our sponsored event this morning, and we look forwards to sharing the total raised with you once we have counted all of the pounds and pennies.

This was followed by a talk about Gymnastics.

The children enjoyed asking lots of questions and learning more about what it takes to be a medal winning Gymnast.

Thank you to our visitor for inspiring us.
