What have we been doing this week?
Year 3 have been in charge of the Halloween Disco this year. We have been very busy using our art and ICT skills to make posters and decorations for the school hall. We hope to see lots of you there!!
We painted pumpkin and bats and used glitter to add detail...
We worked together to build a really long paper chain!
We cut out wicked white teeth.....come along to see what we are going to use them for!
Our Morpha munchies stall was a great success! Every single Morpha Munchie pack was sold and we had lots of happy customers
We raised... £40.00!!
Thank you to everyone who bought one and supported our class!
Smartie Tube Challenge!
So far we have raised.....
Thank you to everyone who has kindly brought their smartie tubes back in.
We really appreciate all you help and support.
This week we are starting to show our entrepreneurial sides. We have come up with these clever ideas to help us raise money for our class trips and other activities. Look out for posters and speak to the children for more details!
Smartie Tube Challenge!
Each child in year 3 has taken home a tube of Smarties. When the Smarties have been eaten we are challenging ourselves to fill our tubes with 20p coins!
How many can you collect?
All donations are greatly appreciated
Check the board by our classroom door to see if we reach our target!
We have been busy making Morpha Munchie packs (BIG thank you to Mrs Palfrey for masterminding this idea!).
Each beautiful butterfly is filled with delicious dried fruits, sweets or other snacks for you to enjoy. When you have eaten all the treats keep your butterfly and refill it for your lunchbox!
Morpha muchies go on sale on Thursday breaktime on the decking for the bargain price of just 50p!
This week we have been investigating Numicon and number rods. We sorted the shapes and rods into different groups and made links between the pieces and our number knowledge. We think that Numicon is a really useful tool and the children will be using it in lots of ways to support their learning.
We have been using our Rainforest theme for inspiration in our drama lessons. We freeze-framed different animal poses and imagined what it would really be like to be a rainforest explorer.
We had great fun exploring different mark making techniques in art. We were decorating leaves for the 'Tom's Midnight Garden' display and our challenge was to create different texture effects. We used bubble wrap and water balloons to make different printing patterns. Take a look at them in the conservatory!
