This week we have been busy learning to write our names!
We have enjoyed our first woodwork session this week, making a variety of things.
We have been learning the story 'We're going on a bear hunt'
We will be sending booklets home with the children so they can tell you the story at home.
We have been getting familiar with the Numicon, pressing it into the playdough and counting the impression, working out how much each piece is worth.
We have been using Beat baby to help us with keeping a beat, listening and our memory.
In PE we have been learning to jump and land properly.
The children have been catching ducks to help them recognise their numbers and count.
We enjoyed making teddy bear headbands for Children in need.
Decorating the band with coloured spots and cutting ears.
We have been busy writing our name and mark-making this week!
We put a large sheet up for the children to paint on outside, a child walked behind the sheet and another child noticed that they could see their shadow. So instead of painting the children experimented with their shadows and had lots of fun.
We have been lucky to have a North Somerset music workshop, where the children experienced Indian music and instruments.
We had a special visitor this week!! King James came to see us and tell us what it's like to be a king. We had lots of questions to ask him. We eben made hiam a Royal throne to make him feel at home.
We have been learning all about Diwali, which is the festival of light.
The children enjoyed making clay Diva pots, which will hold a little candle.
The children also enjoyed the story of Rama and Sita and then were able to act it out using props and costumes.
The children made Rangoli patterns using stensils, black paper and chalk. These will be used to make a display in class.
Even when it is raining, we are still learning and having fun outside!!
Look at us outside with our umbrellas.
On a cold and frosty morning the children enjoyed going outside exploring the environment.
They collected ice and made marks in the frost.
The children enjoyed playing with the ice in a tray and watched how it changed over a period of time.
Farmer Nick came to visit us in school this week. He brought a friend along with him!! Mary the hen!!
We enjoyed learning all about hens and what farmer Nick has to do to look after them.
We then had the story of the little red hen and learnt how to make bread.
We were very lucky and had the dome come and visit us. We learnt all about different environments.
We enjoyed a puppet show with the whole school.
We watched the story of Christmas be told using sand and a light box. The man moved the sand around to create pictures of Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus.
We then used our light box and coloured sand to create our own pictures of Christmas.
Our wheat is growing nicely! We are giving plenty of water and making sure it stays nice and warm in the sun.
The children and staff enjoyed a Christmas lunch together.
We hope you enjoyed the christmas play the children performed. They were absolutly amazing!!
We hope you have a lovely Christmas and we look forward to seeing you and your wonderful children in the new year.
