The children participated enthusiastically in our class debate and spoke so well for each side that a decision was not reached. Jamie said that it had been exciting because he had not been sure what a debate was like. "It was a fair match with both sides sharing thoughts and opinions," said Jake B. Some children were very passionate about their opinions. "I liked it when the Oscar was arguing with Breeze and the chairperson had to ask them to stop," reported Abi. Ethan liked it when there were objections raised.
After the debate the children voted for or against knocking down the Tropicana. Five children voted to knock it down and the rest of the class voted to keep it.
