Olympic Art and Crafts

Oldmixon were lucky enough to experience an art and crafts workshop with an artist. 

The topic of the arts and crafts was the Olympics and year 4 were able to make the base of the structure. 

"I think it was a good idea, it links to our topic and we can use it for the Olympics sports day coming up."- Kyle

Five-a-Side @ Sidcot

Year four were able to take part in a five-a-side match at Sidcot school, playing mini matches against one of their classes, it was enjoyed by all of the children and they came back to school smiling.

On Wednesday 22nd June in PE, Year 4 practiced for the Sports Day Olympics. They were split into each group and every group got to practice their jumping, javelin and assault course skills.

This week in Maths, our main focus has been time. We have been looking at the 24 hour clock and converting times into 24hrs.

A (Active) Life Workshop

This week Year 4 were able to take part in a healthy living workshop, the workshop focused on how to stay active and gave the children new fun ways to keep active. The activities that they were able to try were boxing, trampolines and other exciting activities.

Year 3 & 4 SCHOOL CAMP!

Tuesday 14th - Wednesday 15th June-

This week the children have been camping on a farm! The camping trip was enjoyed by all and the behaviour of the children was OUTSTANDING!  Children were able to take part in various activities such as an assault course, rope swinging, campfire games,    teacher V pupil games, quiz's and much, much more. The children were split into tents and spent the night in their tent with a group of friends, this was a brilliant bonding experience for the children and the teachers. Everyone has come home, happy, tired and very very dirty!

Thursday 9th June- RE Day

Each teacher was given a specific activity to do with the class, the classes would then rotate around each classroom, by the end of the day they had completed various activities about different religions.

 On Wednesday 8th June, a selection of children from years 3 and 4 were taken to along least Safari Park on an amazing trip. Children were able to learn about animals outside of the classroom meeting the animals up close. Whilst at Longleat children were taken through the park on a coach, driving through the animal park, getting up close to lions, tigers, giraffes, wolves and many other exciting animals. Overall the trip was an brilliant learning experience for the children and the trip was enjoyed by all.

 

                                                             

 

 

 

 

 

Things to remember.

 

  • P.E is on Wednesdays
  • Homework is given out on a Friday and returned to school by the following Thursday. 
  • Book bag and P.E kit to be in school everyday.
