On Monday, we had a talk from Dogs Trust charity - we learnt lots about dogs including how to be safe around dogs, what you should and should not do to dogs and what to do if a dog 'charges' at you. We received a free dog pen which has all the information we learnt about on and did some fun role play activities. In English, we wrote character descriptions about Aunt Spiker and Aunt Sponge - the hideously awful aunts in James and the Giant Peach and we created our own awful aunts too. In maths, we have been learning to use protractors, including measuring and drawing angles. In Science this week, we looked at absorbency and discovered which material was best for mopping up a spillage.
This week, we have been looking at instructions. As part of our instruction writing, we made and wrote instructions for a peach upside down cake. In our topic lesson, we have been learning about Worlebury Hillfort and are hoping to visit the Hillfort later on in the term. We have been playing rounders in P.E and enjoyed using our attacking and defending skills in a match. We have also been doing some gardening - we cleared the weeds, dug holes and planted some bedding plants and bulbs in the courtyard!
