Oldmixon Primary School is now closed. We remain open between 8am-6pm, Monday-Friday, for children who are identified as vulnerable and children whose parents are critical to the COVID-19 response, as defined in government documentation.

Following a rise in COVID-19 cases in Weston-super-Mare and the precautionary closure of local A&E provision, Trustees have decided to delay the wider reopening of ELAN schools to children in Preschool, YR, Y1 and Y6 by one week.

This will be reviewed by trustees on 4th June. Confirmation of specific year group opening dates, times and procedures will be conveyed to parents and carers following this review.

Clubs

We offer a range of different clubs here at Oldmixon, and enjoy seeing the children taking part in extra-curricular activities either at lunch time or after school.

Our after school clubs offer changes each term.

We offer 3 clubs each term provided by members of staff here at Oldmixon (usually, one art based club, one P.E. based club and one other club) which are free of charge.

We also offer 2 clubs each term provided by the team from Forever Sport (one gymnastics club and one club which changes on a termly basis) which have a cost attached. This cost varies term by term and is based on a charge of £3 per week.

There are also clubs that run during various lunch times, including Choir.

ENVIRONMENTAL LITTER PICKING CLUB

Each year group in Key Stage 2 is also able to support the school environment.  Children from these year groups volunteer to spend time during their lunch break with Mrs Parker to pick up litter, look out for any issues and remind other children how to take care of their school.

Children are very proud to be part of the club and are keen to keep their school neat and tidy.  The children are interviewed by Year 6 to ensure they are the right candidates for this important role.  Each volunteer wears a special uniform consisting of a yellow jacket, gloves and each have their own litter pickers to ensure they gather litter safely.
