Senior Leadership Team

Mrs. Corinna Sutton - Headteacher, Safeguarding Lead, Disadvantage Lead, History, Geography and RE Lead for KS1, PSHE Lead and Strategic Planning.

I am absolutely thrilled to be the headteacher of Oldmixon Primary School. This is my 30th year in the teaching profession and I have worked in lots of different schools in that time from a British army school in Cyprus to a large Junior school in Bridgwater. I absolutely love my job as every day is different and I get to lead a wonderful team of staff and see our children and young people learn, grow and flourish.

Outside of school I love to be with my family and friends, cooking and socialising. I have a cat called Pickles, and 2 dogs - Daisy and Bruno. I also enjoy drama and theatre and have been in many amateur productions on stage for the past 11years.

Mrs Lindsay Avci - Deputy Headteacher, SENDCo, QEL, Assessment Lead and Wellbeing and Mental Health Lead.

I am excited to have joined the team at Oldmixon Primary School and I am looking forward to getting to know the children and our families. I have been teaching since 2010 and have worked in schools across North Somerset and Bristol - mostly in key Stage 2.

I started my career as a parent helper at my children’s school. Then I became a learning support assistant before starting my degree with the Open University. After my degree, I completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Education at Bath Spa University.

As a young child, I dreamed of being a teacher and there was no other job that I ever wanted to do. I love teaching English because I believe that words are powerful and can give children a voice.

I have a dog called ‘Alfie’ who I enjoy taking on long walks in my spare time.

Miss Holly Miller - Year 6 Teacher, English Lead, Opening Worlds History, Geography and Religious Education Lead for KS2 and Spelling Champion.

I dreamed of being a teacher from a young age! I studied Education and Psychology at the University of Bath before moving to Bath Spa University for my teacher training. I began my teaching career at Oldmixon in 2015 as an NQT and have taught in year 3 and year 5 since. I have a passion for maths and have been working hard to ensure that every child loves maths and achieves in this subject. When not at work, you’re likely to find me with a football at my feet, eating out or petting cats!

Mrs Amanda Martin - Year 2 Teacher, Mathematics Lead, E-Safety, Computing Lead,  Art and Design Lead and Children in Care Lead.

I have been a teacher for over 20 years and am so pleased to be continuing my career here at Oldmixon. I have taught mainly infant children in that time and love to see how early learning supports and underpins a love for learning for life.
