Mrs. Roxanne Simpson
I began my teaching career at Oldmixon Primary School in 2012 as an NQT and loved being part of the Oldmixon family so much that I stayed! Now in my ninth year of teaching, I have experience working both in KS1 and KS2 but this year i am out of class working to support teaching and learning across the school. Passionate about reading, writing and music, I can be found frequently reading poems to children or enthusiastically singing to and with the school. I also have a special interest in children with special educational needs and I am the school SENCO, I’m working hard to support and develop our provision and support for our children who have special educational needs.
Mrs. Dawn Palfrey
I started working at Oldmixon Primary school nearly 21 years ago. My three children came to Oldmixon and enjoyed their time here. I am Key stage 1 Learning mentor; Year 1 Teaching Assistant and Deputy safeguard lead. I enjoy all aspects of my role and love the family feel that Oldmixon Primary School offers.
Mrs. Karen Hynes
I have worked at Oldmixon for 19 years. I've worked throughout the school, but never in early years! I am learning mentor and deputy safeguarding lead. I have worked in year 6 for many years but I'm presently based in Year 5. My heart lies with the older children; I have a passion for working with KS2 learning. My main focus is attendance and behaviour management. In higher KS2 we take pride in getting our children ready for secondary school by helping them become independent learners. Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family and socialising with friends.
