Jigsaw PSCE - Understanding difference
In groups, children acted out different scenarios to help understand what bullying is. This also helped them to about why bullying happens and what it feels like for both the bullies and their victims.
Visit to Weston Museum
History
Weston Museum loaned Year 2 a handling box of artefacts. It was full of interesting objects from seaside holidays both old and new that the children had a chance to explore. They are very excited about their visit to the museum next week and are wondering what else they will discover.
English
This week, year 2 have been re-telling the story of the traditional tale of Jack and the Beanstalk. Initially, they used actions to tell the tale and used pictures to help them sequence the events. They have begun to write the stories taking care to include all the parts of the story and in the right order.
P.E. is on Monday and Tuesday in term 2.
Term 1
This term, on Monday afternoons Year Two will be doing Forest School. Children will need to bring suitable (old) clothes and shoes or wellies and a waterproof coat.
Golden Time
After working hard all week, Year Two enjoyed some well-deserved Golden TIme.
What a busy term they have had. Well done everybody!

Today, Year Two used their plans to make boats: creating form and making joins. Next week, we will be trying out our boats in water.

This week at Forest School Year Two looked at the habitat of the woods and for some of the creatures and insects that make it their home. They made their own mini forests with a forest floor, an understorey, an emergent layer and a canopy.
