Term 3 - key stage two
This term in baton twirling ks2 have been working on learning the basic knowledge of baton twirling.
The children have been doing lots of self experimenting as baton twirling is very new for lots of them! They have been experimenting with different ways they can manipulate the baton as well as different ways they can release it to themselves or others.
They have also learnt lots of new technical skills. And have been working really really hard to perfect these! They have learnt vertical lobs and also some rolls and passes.
In the last few weeks of this term they worked really well as a team and choreographed their own routines in small groups using the skills they have learnt.
They have really enjoyed playing the trick game at the end of each session to where they do a relay race to each complete one trick each and see which them is the fastest!
Here is some of the children’s baton twirling routines that they have choreographed themselves in their teams using the skills they have learnt that they would like to share with you!
